November 28: Comet 3I/ATLAS and Mercury
Comet 3I/ATLAS is an interstellar visitor to the solar system, just passing through, and
currently shining around magnitude 11 in western Virgo, very well placed high in the southeast
in the morning sky about an hour and a half before sunrise. Mercury is just beginning an
excellent morning apparition, but at this point still relatively dim and low.

|
November 23: Saturn & Neptune
Saturn and Neptune are conveniently placed high in the south-southeast in early evening, which
we see in this wide angle view.
|
|
November 22: Moon
The crescent Moon returns to our evening sky as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.
|
|
November 17: Uranus
Uranus is nearing opposition in western Taurus, now rising well into the eastern sky by early
evening; here we see the Bringer of Jolity just below the ecliptic to the lower right of M45,
the Pleiades.
|
|
November 12: Saturn and Neptune
Saturn in Aquarius and Neptune in Pisces are now well past their respective oppositions
and as a result still retrograding, which in this part of their orbits means they are
south of the ecliptic. Note the positional difference from the last time we got
an image of them, October 15.

November 11: Sun with Sunspots
Our Sun is exhibiting a number of large and interesting sunspots in early November,
which have given rise to warnings about the threat of CME's and solar flares, according
to Spaceweather
dot com of November 11, 2025. The largest sunspot group at top middle is
identified as number 4274, while the single spot to its lower right is 4272.
The largest sunspot very near the center of the Sun is 4275.

November 6: Comet Lemmon
Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon is still readily visible in the evening sky after sunset
and is now moving in central Ophiuchus toward the horizon as it also nears the
perihelion point in its orbit. The comet was visible in 10x50 binoculars
despite bright moonlight and light pollution to my west.

|
November 5: Venus in Virgo
Venus is rising so late now that it cannot be imaged in a dark sky ~ our first view shows
the panorama of the sky from Boötes on the left to Corvus on the right, very similar
to the view I had from Chiefland, Florida on November
17, 2001.
|
|
November 4: Jupiter in Gemini
Jupiter is almost at its stationary point in eastern Gemini, which rides high overhead along with
the constellation Cancer on this early November morning.
|
|
November 3: Mercury and Antares
Mercury continues to improve ever so slightly in visibility, from mid October into early November.
Here we see the fleet messenger low on the horizon near the heart of the Scorpion, Antares.
