Solar activity is very high, to the point where one can easily capture numerous
sunspot groups with an unfiltered image of the low, haze obscured Sun.
Unfortunately, power lines are also easy to capture!

Venus and Mars are getting closer but Mars continues to stay ahead in their
race along the ecliptic, both of which the two are well north of.
May 9
Venus and Mars are at different ends of Gemini in early May. Both are north
of the ecliptic in this part of their respective orbits.
