Venus continues to gain ever so slowly on Mars in their eastward race along the ecliptic, now more than half way through Gemini while Mars has crossed over into Cancer a few days ago.  The distance between the two has shrunk to 16° 16' 25", and on this date Mars is magnitude +1.50 while Venus has brightenend to magnitude -4.22 and is now 20" in diameter.
