June 18

We have had an inordinate number of very thick hazy days so far during the late spring season, some no doubt related to the smoke from the fires in Canada, but others not, and this has given rise to numerous sunsets like this one.  We got this shot from route 3 in eastern Stafford County, Virginia.  A good number of sunspots can currently be seen but they didn't show up just using a 205 mm lens.

June 2

Venus is spending her last day with the twins of Gemini and Mars is tearing through the Beehive Cluster, M44.  This view is with a 105 mm lens so the separation between the planets and the ecliptic is exaggerated compared to most of the other views we've had.
