In February 2024, we had a nice view of the southern winter Milky Way from Cedar Key, Florida.  Despite being under a bright, waxing gibbous Moon, the camera recorded a good representation of what we might see visually in a dark sky of this part of the sky.  The heart of the former constellation Argo Navis is the area where Puppis, Vela, and Carina border; Cedar Key is not quite far enough south to see the entire False Cross asterism, which comprises two stars from Vela and two from Carina.  The boundaries of these constellations shown here were made official by the IAU in 1930.  Constellation outlines instead of boundaries.
