NGC 2784 in Hydra
Date of Obs ..... March 3, 2021 |
This galaxy is located south-southwest of Alphard, but the path to it is populated with enough bright stars to make the star-hop fairly easy. I saw it right away at 76x, without having to know exactly where it was located. Using 123x made it much better, but it still presented the appearance of a nebulous star. The halo around the brighter core was small. Direct vision was sufficient to see the galaxy, but except for the strong core, no structure was visible, nor any orientation. |
