The north-central region of Monoceros is rich with open clusters and emission nebulae. The easiest emission nebula to record is the Rosette Nebula, which surrounds the open cluster NGC 2244, and sits conveniently at a near right angle with two of the stars of Monoceros' horn, epsilon and 13 Monoce-rotis. Much fainter is the nebulosity around the Christmas Tree Cluster, NGC 2264; my image is not deep enough to record any of it. Unannotated image.
