Lepus the Hare is the constellation just below the figure of the great hunter Orion.  This constellation includes one Messier object, M79, a rare example of a winter globular cluster.  At the left edge of the image we see the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius, along with the large open cluster M41 just below it.  Unannotated image.
