A very bright and large galaxy, M106, is located in northwestern Canes Venatici near the border with Ursa Major.  In this 135 mm view, we see M106 surrounded by numerous NGC galaxies; at the right border of this image, M94 shows bright and compact.  In the center, the great carbon star Y Canum Venaticorum glows yellow-orange.    Unannotated view.
