The constellation Sagittarius is marked by one of the most unusual set of identification labels for its stars.  The Bayer greek letter designations for most constellations follow the bright-ness hierarchy of its stars, at least roughly.  In the case of the celestial archer, however, alpha and beta are among its most non-descript stars, both in terms of brightness and their pos-itions in the main pattern of the constellation.  From α and the wide double star β, a string of dim stars including ι and θ connect to the main "teapot" pattern via a circuitous route that includes the "Terebellum" pattern of four stars seen at the top left of my image.   Unannotated image.
