Triangulum is a small but neat-looking constellation in the northern autumn sky, and one to which I don't normally pay much attention. Its main deep-sky attraction is M33, the third-ranked galaxy in the local group of galaxies. This view does not include M33 (it is situated right at the very top edge of the image) but we do see the entire pattern of all the main stars. In our early evening November skies, it is seen rising in the east to the upper left of the main stars of Aries. Unannotated image. |
