Venus and the crescent Moon are in Capricornus on this evening after Christmas day.  Venus is still in the beginning stages of its long evening apparition which will end in June 2012 with its second transit in this series.  If I had aimed the camera just slightly higher I could have captured Neptune in the scene as well ~ it is just to the upper right of ι Aquarii.
