Clear skies made for a beautiful scene on the morning of 24 October 2011, with the crescent Moon shining between the trees behind our house in Fredericksburg, VA. This picture was taken after twilight was already well underway, so as a result no stars are visible. For context, the Moon was located in western Virgo, just across the border from Leo. Its phase was 8.8% and its elongation from the Sun was 33°31'16" at this time. Telephoto view, Back to Planets |
