The fall of 2010 saw Jupiter passing by Uranus multiple times during its opposition season in Pisces. In fact, this was one of the relatively rare triple conjunctions between the two, the middle one of which will occur on September 22 (that is using right ascension and declination), eleven days after our picture here. If we use ecliptic coordinates, which to me makes more sense, then their 2nd conjunction occurs on the 19th of September. This is on their date of mutual opposition, which were only separated by five hours according to the information at the above link. My image is deliberately off center because I wanted to catch the "water jar" of Aquarius in the frame with Jupiter. |
