Comet NEAT, officially designated C/2001 Q4 (NEAT), passed through our skies in April and May of 2004, a nice treat prior to the transit of Venus which occurred in June of that year. Here we see the comet north - northwest of β Cancri, on it way toward the Beehive Cluster, M44. A Japanese imager caught the comet the day prior. Unannotated image. |
