This photo shows Mercury in the early evening, positioned to the lower left
of Auriga and the lower right of Gemini. Maybe because it was still
early in the evening, I did not catch Jupiter which must have been just below
the horizon at this time. Mercury shines at magnitude +0.71 on this
date and has a diameter of 8.5" arcseconds. At this point, it is situated
well north of the ecliptic 22°24'09" from the Sun.

This photo was taken with a Nikon FE2 camera at 50 mm, probably not using
a mount to track the sky's motion. The slide was scanned in 2024.
