Jupiter is in Sagittarius during 1996, reprising its apparition of 1984, and anticipating its apparition in 2008.  Here we see Jupiter joined far to its left by the crescent Moon in Aquarius.  This view is about one hour before sunrise, so because the sky is so bright, we have no hope of seeing Uranus and Neptune.  On this morning, Jupiter was at magnitude -2.11 and its equatorial diameter was 36.0 arcseconds.  Unannotated image
