2020 Apparition of Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE
Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)
appeared suddenly in early 2020 and after a very close perihelion
presented a very favorable apparition to northern hemisphere observers in the morning sky,
then switching to the evening sky as a result of its trek across the northern constellation
of Lynx. Some of the best images
show the comet's tail structure and its appearance amid noctilucent clouds or foreground landforms.
These images were obtained on the morning of July 12, 2020, under a last quarter Moon, so
the sky was rather bright unfortunately. The chart shows the position of the comet
near the border of Auriga and Lynx at the time of my images.
