The waxing crescent Moon is far enough to the left (southeast) that we can now get a view of Venus low on the horizon without interference. Venus is extremely bright at magnitude -4.55 but is significantly dimmed by the atmospheric extinction near the horizon. This view is almost 8 years to the day after my image from September 18, 2018, where we can see how far below the ecliptic Venus is during the late stage of these kinds of apparitions.
