Mars continues to race eastward through Gemini, slowly gaining in ecliptic latitude, as it heads toward Cancer and finally to its opposition region next February in Leo. Here we see Mars just as it has passed by the star delta Geminorum.  Mars shines at magnitude +1.22, which now compares almost equally with Pollux' magnitude of +1.15.   Unannotated image.
