May 19th offered skywatchers a very pretty gathering of Venus, the Moon, and Jupiter in the evening sky, and we had decent weather here in central Vir-ginia to observe it.  Venus has just now moved into Gemini, so for the next three weeks or so, she will be in the same constellation as Jupiter.  The brightest planet is magnitude -3.96, while Jupiter is -1.97 on this date; their separation is 20°42'11".  Unannotated image, Planets labeled.
