A few minutes before midnight on the night of January 2, I got a picture of a very prominent Moon halo around the full Moon at its highest point in the sky, the camera having to be aimed almost straight up.  We can see the brighter stars of a good portion of the winter hexagon, including Capella, Aldebaran, and Procyon.  Castor and Pollux are extremely faint just above Jupiter.  Unannotated image.
