Saturn is one day past its opposition date, here viewed from the latitude of 43°N in Bolton Landing, NY. Saturn, shining at magniude +0.60, is well south of the ecliptic and is almost on top of the corner of the constellation boundary between Pisces and Aquarius. Clouds were rolling in as I took this picture, so Neptune was not imaged ~ its location to the left of Saturn is marked. Unannotated image. |
