Venus and the Moon met for a close conjunction in the immediate vicinity of the bright star Regulus, with the geometry of the grouping ideally placed for observers along the eastern seaboard of the United States.  In central Virginia along the Rappahannock River, fog rolling in and out of the area added dramatic flair to the scene; here we caught the grouping during a clear moment with a somewhat more telephoto view.  Unannotated image.
