We took advantage of our beautiful late summer weather in central Virginia to get one more look at Mars ~ still visible in the evening sky if you look low in the west about an hour after sunset and have a flat horizon. Back home now, we have our typical view of the 500kV transmission lines in the distance with Mars, still at magnitude +1.61, to the right and slightly lower than Spica, from which it is now only 8°34'32" away.
