| Venus and Jupiter are closing rapidly in preparation for their conjunction on August 12. Venus has now moved into Gemini and shines at magnitude -4.00, while Jupiter has brightened to magnitude -1.94; they are now separated by only 8°35'58". For the first time this summer, we finally have a good view of both Castor and Pollux in early twilight. |
