Venus continues to dominate the morning sky, but this morning and for the next few, the brightest naked-eye planet shares the spotlight with the dimmest naked-eye planet, Uranus. Venus, at magnitude -4.11, slides by Uranus at magnitude +5.80, to the lower right of the Pleiades. They are separated by a fairly wide margin, 2°40'43", because Venus is now quite a bit south of the ecliptic. Unannotated image. |
