Jupiter, now shining at magnitude -1.94, is racing toward the Gemini border as it sinks into the sunset, but won't quite make it before being engulfed by the solar glare.  Jupiter has almost reached the point at which it is right on the ecliptic.  Unfortunately, by the time that Mercury joins Jupiter on June 7, they will only be 12° from the Sun and therefore not feasible for observation with unaided eye.  Unannotated image.
