Planets are hard to come by in the late spring and early summer of 2024 ~ Mercury and Venus are still very close to the Sun, so although they are technically in the evening sky, they both set quite a while before this picture was taken. The other planets are in the morning sky. In this view, the scene is mostly empty except for the alpha star of Leo, Regulus, and the last view we are likely to have of the Beehive Cluster, M44, in Cancer. |
