This morning we have a nice view of Venus and Mars in the morning sky from Cedar Key, Florida.  At a latitude of 29° 9' North, and with a water horizon toward the east, we can see the planets much more easily as the ecliptic slants at a higher angle up from the horizon than it does from Virginia.  On this morning, Venus is magnitude -3.93 and Mars is magnitude +1.28 and is about 1° 6' below Venus.  Venus was bright enough to be reflected in the shallow waters east of our location.
