Venus is coming to the end of its morning apparition, at least the part that allows for easy visibility ~ she is now quite low in twilight and will continue to sink lower by the day.  The next event will be Venus passing Mars on February 22, which will be very low in twilight but which should afford us an opportunity to see Mars for the first time by using Venus as a guidepost.  On this morning of the 6th, Venus is magnitude -3.96 and 12.0" in diameter.
