Venus has now moved below (really, to the east and south of) Regulus, but we can clearly see how it is approaching the ecliptic from below compared to its position last month in Cancer.  On this morning, Venus is magnitude -4.45 and now only 27.8" in diameter, with a phase angle of 43.35% and therefore nearing dichotomy.  The fourth link shows Venus' path over the last 16 days ~ note how it moves north each day with respect to the ecliptic.
