Venus has been closing in on Saturn all month (although it actually appears as if
Saturn has been moving downward in the sky each day to meet Venus), to finally arrive
at their conjunction on January 22. It's projected to be cloudy tomorrow evening
but it was somewhat clear tonight so I had to take advantage of the opportunity.
Here, Venus is magnitude -3.93, Saturn is at +0.82, and they are 1° 8' apart.
Note that Venus and Saturn are south of the ecliptic, as is Jupiter higher up, off to
the upper left of the scene in this picture.
