Venus has spent the last month or two too close to the Sun to observe, but now it is finally peeking back up over the western horizon after sunset, so in our typically clear November skies, I was able to pick it out of the late afternoon sky with binoculars about 10 minutes before sunset on this Friday after Thanksgiving.  In this cropped image from a larger 200mm shot, we can see Venus between the power lines, but we cannot see Mercury, to Venus' left.
