In preparation for imaging the solar eclipse in April 2024, I started practicing
getting images with my Nikon D600 through my 120mm f/5 (600 mm focal length)
achromatic refractor with Orion white light filter. Today there is a nice
string of sunspots visible that have been spawning auroras in northern latitudes.
My camera settings were ISO 125 and shutter speed 1/2500", which seemed to work
well. The focuser on the telescope was set at one mark beyond the 3 line.
