On Sunday morning, March 20, 2022, low clouds obscured the southern horizon,
which prevented me from seeing Saturn, but Venus and Mars were still nicely
visible in a bright moonlit sky above the treeline. On this date, Venus
is magnitude -4.39, while Mars has brightened to magnitude +1.14. Note
how Venus is pulling ahead of Mars noticeably in its eastward movement along
the ecliptic.
