Venus and Mars have now crossed over into Capricornus and will slide under
the pair of stars α and β over the next week, heading toward their
rendezvous with Saturn, which has not yet risen high enough for me to include
in the pictures. Venus is still 3° 28' north of the ecliptic at
magnitude -4.50 while Mars is 1° 14' south of the ecliptic at magnitude
+1.22.
