Mercury is in the midst of a good morning apparition, with its greatest
differential in rising time compared to the Sun being today and tomorrow,
even though its greatest brilliancy and elongation don't come until
February 14 and 16, respectively. The reason is that this morning,
it is still a litle more than 2° above the ecliptic, but retrograding
in a direction that takes it well south of the ecliptic.
