Venus has now, 16 days after inferior conjunction, climbed high
enough to be seen against a dark sky, and owing
to its height above the ecliptic (6° 44' this morning), it
is almost at the same elevation above the horizon as Mars. In
the coming weeks it will climb higher and Mars will scoot underneath
of Venus, only to be overtaken on or about March 5 as Venus races ahead
of it.
