These terrible images were taken with my iPhone 6S afocally (hand-held) through the eyepiece in my C8.  At least they show how close the planets were in relation to their size and to Jupiter's Galilean moons. The view through the eyepiece was really amazing; this article includes a great diagram showing the scene.  As usual, among the best images of any that show the real view through a telescope are those by Christopher Go of the Philippines.  Alan Dyer of Canada is another frequent imager of the night sky.  Some of the best explanations with diagrams of any celestial event originate from Guy Ottewell, publisher of the Astronomical Calendar from 1974 to 2016.  Lastly, Michael Teoh in Malaysia captured possibly the best telescopic image I've seen of the event.
