The year 2020 was a long setup for planetary observers, with Jupiter and Saturn spending almost the entire year moving back and forth along the ecliptic in Sagittarius and Capricornus, culminating in their once-in-20-years conjunction in late December. Here we see them on either side of the border be-tween the two zodiacal constellations. Jupiter is magnitude -2.61 and Saturn is magnitude +0.41 on this date, separated by 4°52'29".
