Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are arrayed in the morning sky along the ecliptic from central to eastern Sagittarius.  On this morning, Mars is magnitude +1.04, Jupiter is -2.05, and Saturn is magnitude +0.67.  The distance between Mars and Saturn is 14°25'16" and will shrink rapidly over the next several weeks.  Our image here shows the handle of the Sagittarius "teapot" on the right side of the frame as well as the entire "teaspoon" asterism in the upper half right of center.  Unannotated image
