Duplicating very closely their May 1989 conjunction, 24 years later Venus and Jupiter gather low in the evening sky of late May 2013, but this time joined by Mercury.  This image was taken in West Virginia near the New River Gorge and I used a somewhat telephoto lens, so I didn't capture any of the stars of Taurus for context.  On this evening, the magnitudes are as follows:  Venus = -3.91, Jupiter = -1.94, and Mercury = -0.75 which means that all three are brighter than all nighttime stars except that Sirius is brighter than Mercury.
