In February 2024, we had a nice view of the southern spring Milky Way from Cedar Key, Florida.  The sprawling constellation of Centaurus extends far enough north that the pair θ and ι can be seen from the northern United States, but α and β can only be seen from the lower half of Florida.  From Cedar Key we were able to see three fourths of Crux, the Southern Cross, and most of Centaurus.  Of course, the main attraction of Centaurus is the spectactular globular cluster, ω.
