From Big Bend National Park in July 2019, I did some astro-imaging with my Canon 5D IR modified camera that records H-α emissions well.  Here we have a mildly telephoto view of the "false comet" region of southern Scorpius, from the cluster NGC 6231 up to the nebulosity of IC 4628.  The area really does look like a comet because of the concentrated brightness at the southern tip with ζ Scorpii and the bright cluster, then gradually becoming sparser and dimmer but also wider and curving, mimicing the appearance of a comet's tail.  Unannotated image, Back
