In September, 2005 I tried some wide-field photography with my Nikon FE2 and 55 mm f/1.2 lens piggybacked on my Celestron C8 telescope, paying careful attention to tracking and balance of the scope.  This is one of the best astrophotos I ever took with film in terms of capturing faint nebulosity.  Not sure what aperture I set the lens to, but it most likely was not all the way open, maybe stopped down one stop.  The northern coalsack under the Pelican Nebula is very apparent, as is the dark dust cloud at upper right toward Cepheus, known as Le Gentil 3.  Back
