This view of central Andromeda, highlighting the galaxy, was taken in Hanover County, Virginia, and framed through the pine trees at my childhood home.  The 55 mm f/1.2 lens was probably used wide open to capture as much of the galaxy as possible, resulting in the bloated stars and distortion at the edges.  Unannotated image, Back
