| I had a memorable trip to southern Texas in August 1993 ~ I didn't go to Big Bend National Park, but rather drove down to South Padre Island in an attempt to do some astronomy, but decided that wasn't suitable for some reason. I drove back up and stopped at a point near Carrizo Springs to take pictures. Whatever slide film I was using at the time exhibited a purple tint. Carrizo Springs is at latitude 28°30' which is further south than any place in Big Bend. This is the first photo I took on which I captured the dark clouds that extend from the area of Antares back toward the Pipe Nebula. Back |
