Venus passed Jupiter in the late summer of 2005 in the vicinity of Spica, the exact date of conjunction being September 1. On this date of August 28, Venus is at magnitude -4.01 while Jupiter shines at magnitude -1.77 in bright twilight, with a separation of 4°00'34" between them.
