Saturn came to opposition on January 13, which was a special event resulting in an opposition surge because when viewed from Saturn, Earth transited the Sun's disk, so the line-up of Sun-Earth-Saturn was nearly perfect, which made Saturn appear especially bright in our sky that night.  Here we see the ringed planet two months later right at the end of its retrograde loop.
